Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love and togetherness – regardless of who are you spending it with. While there are many ways to spend the special day, it’s almost a staple activity to share sweet treats – like these Valentine’s Day cupcakes– with your loved ones. Even if you have no one to spend it with, there’s no harm in pampering yourself – after all, the person you have to love the most is none other than yourself!
While a treat may come in different ways – one way you can reward yourself is with these appetizing Valentine’s Day cupcakes. These are some of our personal favourites:
Chocolate Cherry Amaretto Cupcakes

The treat is perfect for adults who want to taste best of both worlds – chocolate with a hint of liquor. Ideally, the cupcake would be a fitting way to celebrate special days like anniversaries, and Valentine’s Day. 10/10 recommended.
Champagne Cupcake

Next on our ‘adult cupcakes’ list is the shocking combination of cupcake and champagne – champagne cupcake. The taste? The cupcake is described as soft, airy, very moist and has a subtle fruity flavour. It does sound mouth-watering.
Sweet Heart Cupcake

Did you notice the witty pun? The cupcake is just like any other conventional cupcake – just with heart-shaped cut-out hole in the centre. The cut-out is then, filled with cherry frosting that perfectly complements the chocolate batter. Plus, you can always enjoy the cut-out piece yourself 😉
Cherry Cordial Cupcake

If cherry frosting isn’t cherry enough for you, don’t worry. The cherry cordial cupcake will suit any adult’s taste bud – combining the bitter dark chocolate with sweet and sour cherry. It does remind us of classic black forest treats. Remember, the darker the chocolate the better.
Dark Chocolate Cupcake with Red Velvet Frosting

This cupcake might be more suitable for you if you’re not a fan of dark chocolate or if your loved ones prefer something sweeter. The cupcake is made with a blend of cocoa powder, butter, and buttermilk while the frosting is made of butter, cream cheese, buttermilk, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Nothing too strong – thus, making the dessert a perfect choice for everyone of all ages.
Chocolate Cherry Cupcake

Yet another variation of chocolate-cherry duo. This time, though, rather than featuring the tangy taste of cherries, the cupcake uses chocolate-covered cherries. Yum!
Heart Cupcake

Nothing beats the classic, heart-shape cupcakes! To make the baking process twice easier, use a muffin tin, then soft, airy, very moist and have a subtle fruity flavour. The baking hack would ensure you a perfectly-shaped cupcake.
Chocolate Pudding Cupcake with Strawberry Centre

It’s understandable if cherry isn’t your favourite fruit. If strawberry is more of your cup of tea, this chocolate cupcake with strawberry centre would be perfect for you. You can also add fresh mint sprigs as the garnish.
Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake Cupcake

If you’re not into something fruity, or alcohol-imbued, the raspberry swirl cheesecake cupcake is the right choice for you. It’s simple, easy to make, and very aesthetically pleasing. The raspberry marbling on top would make it very ‘Instagram-able’.
Letter and Picture Cupcake

Last on our list is the classic, letter and picture cupcake. The cupcake is basically just like any other cupcake – with no alteration to the recipe. What makes it special, though, would be the frosting – where you can draw letters and pictures on top of it.
Happy baking!
