Web browser cookies

Our Site may use “cookies” to enhance User experience.

Cache Pages

This site utilizes caching in order to facilitate a faster response time and better user experience.

Caching potentially stores a duplicate copy of every web page that is on display on this site.

Cache files expire on a schedule set by the site administrator, but may easily be purged by the admin before their natural expiration, if necessary.

2. Google Analytics

When someone visits we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns.

We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site.

We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

As part of the registration process for our weekly, monthly, or product recommendations e-newsletter, we collect personal information.

We use that information for a couple of reasons:

  • to check our records are right;
  • to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied.

We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, FeedBurner, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter.

4. Shareaholic

When visitors share a post through the Shareaholic social share buttons there may be some data collected by Shareaholic, such as, but not limited to:

5. Gravatar, Akismet And Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.

6. Embedded Content From Other Websites

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
