It’s a common joke to say that once it’s November 1st, it’s officially Christmas. Indeed, Halloween and Christmas are only one and a half months apart, so this Santa girlish costume is the best thing you can get if you want to save your Halloween costume budget and still would be able to attend Christmas parties in style.
Although Father Christmas is typically depicted as an old, big-bellied man with white-as-snow beard covering from his chin, there’s nothing wrong with adding a feminine twist to the fictional character. The costume is also inspired by a popular chick flick, Mean Girls. If you have watched the movie, then you’d be able to instantly recognize the dress worn by the Plastics when they performed “Jingle Bell Rock” in the Winter Talent Show.
To recreate the costume, you can follow the step-by-step tutorial below. Make sure you watch the video, made by TheSorryGirls, from the beginning to the end!
You can also make your own version of the Santa girl costume using a combination of different clothing at once.
You’d need: a Santa hat (optional), a red tank top (preferably with thin straps) or a bodysuit, 1 yard white faux fur trims (glued or sewn), a Santa skirt (tutu red skirt, if you can’t find any around where you live. You can attach faux fur at the bottom), a bow belt, a pair of black gloves and black heeled boots. To complete your look, put on some winter-themed false lashes and pink lip gloss.
Along with the Santa girl costume, you can also make your own elf girl costume – in case you plan to attend a Christmas party with your bestie.
