We’re now in December, which means it is officially Winter, the coldest time of year, but also one of the most joyous and fun seasons there are. As it’s winter we have one single thing on our mind: Christmas!
Who doesn’t love Christmas? Watching cheesy films on the TV, eating your body weight in roasted food and of course the joys of giving and receiving gifts. We all love getting gifts at Christmas, but if we’re honest, there aren’t many feelings better than giving someone a gift you know they’ll love and seeing them open it on Christmas morning.
But giving good gifts is a big task, you need to know what your friends and families interests and needs are to work out the perfect present for them. If you’re buying for someone who’s a bit of a fashionista it can be hard to know what to buy as tastes and trends change so often, so it’s simpler to opt for home décor items.

First off, we have houseplants which are always a welcome gift! They add a feeling of life and freshness to any home they’re in and they look stylish when used as a décor piece. There are also a whole host of various health benefits that can come from living with houseplants so this gift would be perfect for anyone conscious about self-care.
Just make sure that you don’t buy a plant that could be considered too high maintenance, not everyone wants a gift that comes with a whole host of responsibilities, so it’s best to choose a stylish but low maintenance plant like a cactus or a succulent, which require minimal care and still look fabulous!
2. Window Blinds
Window blinds are a great choice for a home décor gift, especially if you know someone who has recently moved into a new home. Blinds aren’t often something we prioritise when it comes to decorating our homes, so they’ll likely still have the previous homeowners blinds up, which may clash with their décor scheme.
Window blinds can be a bit of an awkward gift to prepare for, if you want to gift made to measure window blinds, you’ll need measurements for their windows which can be awkward. If you don’t have the ability to secretly measure their windows it may be best to give them money or a gift card to be used on new window blinds.

If you’re looking for a gift with more of a personal touch, then a custom poster will be the perfect gift for your décor obsessed friend as you can look for posters of their interests, for example the bands they like, their favourite food or even holiday destination, there are posters for everything now thanks to the internet.
With the poster, if you want your gift to be a bit more smart and stylish, you can also get a frame for the poster, turning it from a regular run of the mill poster into a stylish art piece for them to hang in their home.
