Summer is one of the most beautiful periods of the year, vacations, sun, tanning, parties and friends. Even if you have great skin and genetics or you use protecting lotions, for most of people summer tanning begins with some painful burns or at least with some non painful peeling of the skin. How can you prevent them? Of course, there are great products you can use after sun, but most are full of chemicals and nothing is more healthier for skin than all natural oils or creams. You will find here some amazing remedies for problems that sun causes, they are very safe to use and they can do only good for you.
1. Aloe Vera Gel
One of the best natural sunburn remedies, awesome in treatment and pain relieving. You will need aloe vera plant with thick leaves, squeeze out the gel from the plant and put it on your skin. You can section the leaf in two, open it and put it on the skin by gently rubbing the problem areas. It’s great to keep the gel in the fridge for a more cooling effect.
2. Earl Grey Tea
Great to use for mild burns and for peeling prevention, it will give a nice color to the skin. Take 5 or 6 earl grey tea bags, boil them into some water and allow the liquid to cool down. Take a clean towel, insert it into the tea, and then put it where needed, do this for at least half an hour.
3. Potato Paste
Potatoes are great for reducing inflammations and redness. You can put slices of them on the skin or you can make a paste, both ways work great. What you will need for the paste: 2 or 3 potatoes, a grater or food processor and some cotton balls. Peel and wash the potatoes and make a paste out of them in the processor. Add some water to the paste to make it more liquid and soak the cotton balls into it. Apply the mixture directly to the sunburned area.
Besides the great benefits for burn relieving, vinegar also helps your tan last longer. The best type of vinegar to use is pure unfiltered apple cider vinegar. To make the treatment you will only need one cup of vinegar and a spray bottle or cotton balls. After you have taken a shower you either spray the vinegar to the problem areas or you use the soaked cotton balls and gently apply them on skin. Allow the vinegar to dry and don’t wash it off.
5. Sunburn Cream – DIY
You can make an awesome cream from the following ingredients: 1 tbsp of witch hazel, 2 tbsp water, 1 tsp aloe vera gel, 3 tsp cornstarch and 1 tsp peppermint oil. Put the witch hazel, aloe vera gel and water into a bowl, mix together and leave them to sit for a few hours. Later add the cornstarch and peppermint oil to the mix and you have to obtain a creamy lotion. Store it into the fridge for 24 hours and you can use it for several weeks after it’s made and you’ll never deal with painful sunburns ever again.
