Everybody loves these new over the knee baggy boots. But we have to admit, they can get quite expensive. Therefore, we thought: why not try to do this yourself? And here we found some images and a video that can be helpful for you.
You will need:
– an old leather skirt about 28” long/leather;
– scissors;
– sewing machine;
– shoes.
Directions: First you should decide if you are going for a baggy feeling or you want a tighter look. When decided, measure everything and cut if necessary. Cut off the waistband if you are using an old skirt, and pull out the zipper and stitch the opening closed. Fold the leather over in two and stitch together on side. After you sew it together, try them on, and adjust if necessary around the knee or ankle. Leave about 3” open at the bottom, this way you can either pull them all the way down over the shoe, or you can tuck it and show off the heel of the shoe. If you have leftovers, you can cut stripes of 1” wide, if you like to tie the “boots” for a different look, or just to hold in place. Enjoy!
