Shopping has been one of our most beloved activities, for many decades now. We had brought it down to an art before the pandemic hit us all. Now, most of us are moving towards shopping online, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be even better than before. Here are a few tips to make your digital shopping smart.
1. Be aware of Digital Marketing Strategies that Brands Use
The internet is a world created for brands. They have many more ways to get to consumers, like you. That is why you need to be aware of what they are, so you can turn it around and benefit from them. If you want to identify them, go to a digital marketing agency, where you can learn more.
You can even benefit from the tips you will find on this website, to use them on your Instagram stories! But most importantly, you will know where to look for potential savings, as brands usually hold sales, throughout the year, on one of their digital marketing tools.
2. Find a Coupon Code
While you roam the brand’s social media and subscribe to their newsletter, you may end up finding one of their coupon code, for additional savings on what you would like to buy. But if you don’t find it there, don’t worry, there are still other ways to get rebates.
Online, you can find specialized websites that create such coupons for brands. You can try RetailMeNot or Coupons.com, for example. But the best way is to write “coupon apps” on a Google search, and it will find you all the possibilities available to you. You just have to hope that you will find one, from the brand you are looking for.
3. Wait for General Online Sales
The truth is online works pretty much the same way that the real world does. There are moments in the year, when you already know that sales will be happening. If you don’t need anything urgently, you should wait for one of these sales to happen. The most important are Black Friday (November), and seasonal sales (January/February and July/August).
You will be looking at important rebates that can go all the way up to 50% or more. With clothes, however, you may not always find the pieces you want, if you wait too long to get them.
4. Look for Free Shipping
There are many brands that are not charging you shipping fees when you buy from them. That is definitely a plus when you want to save money. You may think that the clothes you are buying are cheap, but when you add the cost of transport, it isn’t so anymore.
The one thing you have to keep in mind is that all companies do end up paying for the shipping. Therefore, if they don’t charge it to you, it is because they have already included it in the price, somehow. Be aware, so that you don’t actually buy solely for the purpose of not paying the shipping, but also because the price is right, in the first place.
Online, there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t shop till you find a better price. That is the best advice you can get.
