You might have noticed how expensive a laptop bag can get, and many times it doesn’t even fit properly. If you feel creative, we found a great idea of how you can spend less money on a laptop bag, and still protect it.
You will need:
– old sweater;
– fabric for lining;
– needle and thread or sewing machine;
Directions: First, check out that you have a big enough sweater so that it can hold your laptop. Next, pick a colored fabric for the lining … or not so colored, but why not get crazy? Lay out the sweater and put the laptop over it, so you can see where to cut, then use a piece of paper to decide on the distance needed apart and also the arc above for the handles of your bag. When you decide on the pattern of the bag, cut out the excess (note that the underarm side seams will be centered in the front and the back center of your bag). Lay this pattern over the fabric you will use for lining, and cut out the same form. Don’t forget to leave a few inches for seam allowance. Stitch the sides together and sew on the wrong side. With the sleeves of the sweater you can still do something interesting for a final touch of your bag, like some ruffles or some flowers you should probably attach/sew on the front of the bag, before you sew the lining to it. Enjoy!
