Probably all of you girls when were little dreamed about being a mermaid at least once. If you already are mothers and you have daughters you can see the story repeating with them. Little girls love mermaids, and let’s admit, we love them too and would still fancy being one. So, if you don’t have a cute little person wanting to be a mermaid, try to make the blanket for yourself, you will love it.
There are many variations for it, like the cocoon ones which you stick your legs inside, and the ones that just look like cocoons and are in fact blankets. Often, the patterns for such blankets might look tricky and be hard to make but don’t get scared by that, it is a little difficult, but not impossible.
The colors used are vibrant, perfectly suitable for a mermaid and remember that a little sparkle is never out of fashion so you can use a special yarn that has a couple of added sparkly things in it. The blanket is about 96 cm long and 25 cm wide, perfect and enough to cover some beautiful legs.
We don’t recommend beginners to try this out, it is great if you are at an intermediate level as the “join-as-you-go” technique used here might be a little tricky. The pattern is available on Etsy.
