One way to start living healthier is by making small changes. One of them includes changing your snacking habit. Frozen banana pops is one of many healthy snack alternatives you can choose from. The sweet delicacy is, of course, not an ice cream sundae or mouth-watering popsicles, but they’re definitely healthier and they taste as good! Most of banana pops are vegan friendly, gluten-free, and refined sugar-free! Plus, they’re low in calorie and sugar; meaning you won’t have to worry about shedding that extra pounds!
Frozen banana pops is also, in a sense, customize-able snack. Just like frozen yoghurt, you can choose your own topping. You can cover them either in sprinkles, chopped nuts, M&Ms, shredded coconut, cereal, granola, or even other fruits! The possibility is endless!
Now that we have you pumped up for the snack, let’s get down to the business, a.k.a the recipe. We know you’re excited, but hold your horses!
First, you’d need 2-4 ripe bananas (it depends on how many pops you’re making). Second, you’d need to prepare the spreading. Be creative! You can use anything spreadable here; peanut butter, coconut butter, raw nutella, soy yogurt, sunflower seed butter, hemp butter, melted milk chocolate; basically anything! Then, get ready for the dipping! You can use almonds, coconut, sprinkles, fruit, cacao nibs, granola, cereal, chocolate, agave, candies, or raisins. Finally, prepare some popsicle or cake pop sticks. You can also use craft sticks.
Now, let’s get started! First you need to cut the bananas in halves. Put the sticks in halved bananas and let them sit in the freezer for about an hour or more (if possible, keep it in the freezer for at least 3 hours). Then, prepare the spreading! You may need to pour them into a bowl, or melt some of them. Once you’re done, take out the bananas from the freezer and dip it into the spreading. Then quickly sprinkle the topping! Finally, let them freeze once again, until both the spreading and topping stick perfectly to the bananas.
