Cleaning Tips & Tricks You Have to Know

Cleaning can become such a hassle, especially if you are doing it wrong. But wait, what can be wrong in cleaning? Lots of things, like buying unnecessary cleaning products, lengthening the time spent with cleaning and much more. A house cleaning checklist may help you understand how often and when to clean your home throughout the year. But with these cleaning tips and tricks you will take care of every dirty corner of your home in no time and with ease!

1. How to sanitize your sponges.

Make a mix of vegetable oil with baking soda and with the help of a tooth brush clean the gunk out of your cabinets.

Coat the cast iron piece (top and bottom) with the oven cleaner, making sure to wear gloves. Place the coated piece in a garbage bag and seal tightly to prevent the oven cleaner from drying out. Let the pieces soak for a few days. Repeat if it is really dirty. Remove the lye and old seasoning by wiping off the grime with a paper towel and then washing the skillet with hot water. Then soak the cleaned skillet in a 2:1 solution of hot water and white distilled vinegar for 30-60 minutes. Wash the skillet with soap and hot water and dry it thoroughly. Season immediately to prevent rusting by placing the cleaned, dry skillet upside-down in a 250-degree oven for 15 minutes. Use vinegar in your dishwasher. Each time you run a cycle, just pour about a cup into the bottom. You’ll still want to use dishwasher detergent…just pour it right in the dishwasher and start it up.

Make a mix from vinegar, water and dish soap and spray it on your window. Use a white cloth to wash the window and dry and buff it with a wadded up newspaper.

To clean the kitchen sink you will need: liquid dishwashing soap; distilled white vinegar; baking soda; rock salt; lemon or lime; ice; old rag; toothbrush; nylon or soft sponge. First thoroughly rinse out your sink. After wetting the entire surface of your sink, sprinkle baking soda onto the surface. Work the baking soda into a paste and rinse thoroughly using the toothbrush. Then line the entire sink with paper towels soaked in white vinegar. Allow it to sit for 20 minutes and then dispose of the paper towels. Using a nylon sponge, saturate it with soapy water and then clean the sink, followed by a good rinse.

For sinks with a garbage disposal, pour one half cup of baking soda down the kitchen drain. Add one cup of white vinegar on top of the baking soda. Allow this to work for a few minutes while you boil a kettle of hot water to pour it down the drain. Fill the drain with two cups of ice. Pour a cup of rock salt over the ice cubes. Run the cold water and turn on the garbage disposal until the ice is gone. The ice/salt mixture will help loosen the grime and debris from the grinding elements. Cut a lemon or lime in half. With the water on and garbage disposal running, add the fruit one at a time to the disposal. The fruit will help clean your drain and make it smell good at the same time.

First way is to pour several tablespoons of white vinegar into a glass jar and dip your toothbrush in. Let the toothbrush sit in the mixture for at least 15 to 30 minutes. The second way is to make a mixture of ½ colloidal silver and ½ water. Dip your toothbrush in mixture and let it sit for 15 to 30 minutes.

33. Cleaning A Bathtub Drain
Start by removing the top part of the bathtub drain. Take the pliers, insert them into the drain and pinch the misery. Pour about a half cup of baking soda down the drain, and then pour in vinegar until it bubbles up to the top of the drain. Leave that for about 15 minutes, and then pour hot water down the drain. This will help disinfect the drain and clean it too.

Mix equal parts vinegar and warm water in a bowl. Slip an old odd sock on your hand and wipe all the grimy dirt away.

Using a white cloth, sponge the stain with the detergent/vinegar solution and blot until all the liquid is absorbed. Sponge off with cold water and blot dry.

Fill the sink with hot water, 1/2 c. salt and 1/2 c. baking soda. Place the silver into the mix for about 5 minutes.

45. How To Clean Your Mattress
To clean the mattress you will need baking soda and a vacuum cleaner. First vacuum the entire mattress thoroughly to remove any icky unmentionables on the bed.Use an upholstery cleaner on any stains you may find. Be careful not to saturate your mattress, getting it overly wet is a bad idea as it can cause mould and other nasties in your mattress. Sprinkle baking soda all over the mattress and left it sit for two hours. Then, vacuum off all the baking soda.

46. Magic Laundry Cleaner
Do 2 parts Hydrogen Peroxide and 1 part “Dawn” dishsoap and baking soda. Mix up to obtain a solution for treating the stains.

47. No Scrubbing Tub Cleaner
Mix up a solution of one part Dawn dish soap and one part vinegar, spray it on your tub or on a half of it (so you could compare the two sides for more clear results). About an hour later wipe with a rag.
