Why do we have to struggle with these ugly looking black spots? Most of times even makeup can’t cover them. They are a result of many factors that encourage their development. Do not despair, most of times the solution for this type of problems is exactly in our kitchen using natural ingredients. Too much exposure to sun, hormonal imbalances, pregnancy and vitamin deficiency are the most common reasons why black spots appear on our face. Besides the indication of health problems they affect us emotionally and lower our self esteem. What can we do about them? Find out in our article and test our home remedies.
Reduce black spots using:
1. Lemon juice – high in Vitamin C has whitening properties.
How to use: Squeeze the juice of one lemon and with some cotton balls apply it on your face. Let it be soaked in then rinse your face with water. Apply everyday for at least 2 weeks and you will see results. For sensitive skin, you can dilute the juice with rosewater or honey.
2. Buttermilk – helps with reducing the spots without causing blemishes and the lactic acid from it reduces skin pigmentation.
How to use: Mix 4 teaspoons of buttermilk with 2 teaspoons of fresh tomato juice and apply it to face leaving it on for 15 minutes. Rinse with water and repeat the process twice a day, 5 days a week. If you don’t have buttermilk, you can use milk mixed with honey and applied on spots for 10 minutes. Repeat daily for the best results.
3. Oats – because oatmeal powder is awesome for skin exfoliation, sometimes all the skin needs is a good exfoliation.
How to use: mix in a bowl half cup of rolled oats with 4 tablespoons of lemon juice until you get a paste. Apply paste on the face and scrub it gently. Rinse with water and use this treatment once or twice a week.
4. Almonds – the best to use is their milk.
How to use: Take 10 almonds and soak them in milk overnight. In the morning peel them and grind them. Mix with 1 teaspoon of sandalwood powder and half teaspoon of honey. Apply on face and leave it on for 30 minutes. Repeat a few times a week for best results.
5. Potatoes – rich in antioxidants.
How to use: They can be sliced and applied directly on the spots and left on for 30 minutes. The skin will absorb the nutrients. Another way to use them are grated, mixed with honey and applied this way on the problem areas. Repeat twice a week and within a few weeks you will see results!
