Putting makeup on does boost our confidence – we won’t argue about this. But it doesn’t mean that in order to be attractive, you need to put makeup on. In fact, you can be attractive without makeup! And while not many know this, the tricks won’t cost you an arm and a leg and they’re basically just things we often forget to do, probably because of our busy schedules. There are at least three steps you can take to feel gorgeous barefaced. Let’s take a look at them below!
Having nice skin
While your genetics do have something to do with having flawless complexion, you can do some things to improve your skin condition. Having a flawless skin, to a certain extent, is possible but you shouldn’t expect too much. Take realistic steps, such as cleansing your face daily. Germs trapped on your skin layer by the oil can cause bacteria to grow and acne, to flourish.
To prevent skin problems, wash your face once (if your skin type is dry) or twice (if your skin type is oily) daily. Find a skin cleanser that suits your skin; and you might need to try one cleanser after another. And don’t simply lather on the cleanser on your skin and rinse it. Try to massage your face using circular motions, and then rinse with warm water. Try to apply toner after washing your face, but if your skin is sensitive or dry you can also skip the step. Facial masks, exfoliations, moisturizers, and sunscreens do wonder on your skin.
Be consistent – have a schedule and keep up with it. Again, you might need to adjust the skincare routine with your skin type. Trial and error is a normal part of the process to find a routine you can stick to. And finally, the step we tend to miss: getting enough sleep. Try to have at least 8 hours sleep a day, and try to sleep no later than 11 PM. This pattern allows your body to replace dead skin cell and process toxin out of your system.

Take care of your outer appearance
This includes maintaining personal hygiene, trimming your eyebrows (and body hair), keeping your lips moisturized and healthy and taking care after your hair. You can try consulting with your hairdresser what kind of haircut would suit you best. Don’t be afraid to try something new; but also, don’t feel pressured to follow the trend or to getting extreme haircuts. Professional hairdressers can identify your face shape and thus, help you find the best haircut. Your hair also needs special attention from time to time. Applying hair masks or simply choosing the right shampoo and conditioner can make a lot of difference. You can also try including natural ingredients to your hair care routine.
Having neatly trimmed nails can also make you appear clean and presentable. You don’t have to get your nails professionally manicured; as long as their well-cut and clean that would be fine. Also, good fashion sense can save you from a lot of embarrassment and make you feel much more confident. Wear clothes you feel comfortable in. If possible, add accessories to spice up your look.
And finally: be confident! Smile, maintain proper posture, express yourself appropriately using your body language, and be positive! Sometimes the stress we get from school or work can wear us out. Don’t let it impact you on the long run. Smiling can help others warm up to you and you’d be surprised to see how many people would find you attractive.
Maintain your diet and set a workout routine
It doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be skinny in order to be attractive. But you do need to replace unhealthy foods with healthier foods such as fruits, vegetables, or low fat dairy. Reduce salt and sugar intake – salt can cause your body to bloat and sugar can lead to health problems. Stay hydrated – drink 2 to 3 liters daily. And include physical activities to your weekly routine. Yoga, jogging, dance, hiking, or biking would be perfect. Make adjustments to your schedule so you always have enough time to work out.
